Job Profile:
  • Stay abreast of health and safety regulations and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and update health and safety policies and procedures to align with industry standards and best practices.
  • Design and oversee comprehensive health and safety training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Lead investigations into health and safety incidents, accidents, and near-misses. Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards, assess risk, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans to address potential workplace emergencies and ensure the safety of employees.
  • Foster a culture of safety awareness and responsibility throughout the organization, promoting a proactive approach to health and safety.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and management, to integrate safety practices into daily operations.
  • Generate and analyze health and safety reports, presenting findings to management, and making recommendations for continuous improvement.

Person Profile:
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience in health and safety management, with at least 5 - 8 in a managerial role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the paper manufacturing sector.
  • In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a commitment to fostering a safety-first culture.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex health and safety information clearly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop effective solutions to address safety challenges.
  • Experience in conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders and teams to integrate safety into all aspects of the organization.
