Advanced Watertek (AWT) is looking to expand its business and market share in Sri Lanka for water treatment systems, related services, spares and consumables. This role will be based in Sri Lanka, working in coordination with our agent in Sri Lanka and the Advanced Watertek sales team in Dubai. The incumbent will be primarily responsible for prospecting and identifying clients for AWT products and services. Also, the role is accountable for executing and achieving sales in accordance with budgeted and agreed targets.

Sales Engineer - Sri Lanka

This is primarily a sales and business development role with the below responsibilities -  

  • Prepare the sales plan and objectives for the Sri Lankan market by working in collaboration with the AWT management and the AWT agent in Sri Lanka
  • Identify potential new clients, initiate contact and establish relationships
  • Maintain a good working relationship with existing clients
  • Follow up with potential customers. 
  • Generate opportunities and inquiries to ensure a healthy sales pipeline
  • Qualify inquiries along with the agent and help with bid/no-bid decisions
  • Ensure successful closure of sales while complying with AWT code of ethics, approved margin and pricing policy.
  • Achieve sales targets
  • Collect market intelligence and information and update the management on a periodic basis
  • Provide periodic sales reports on the pipeline, status of inquiries, forecasts, etc.

After Sales Services 

  • Follow up with all clients to ensure client satisfaction on products and service quality and prompt payment of accounts receivables
  • Obtain and analyze client feedback and promptly act upon any dissatisfaction to initiate preventive action to resolve the complaint  
  • Ensure adherence to the Integrated Management System standards and code of ethics

Supervisory Responsibility & Communication

  • Nil. Will work in close coordination with the AWT agent in Sri Lanka and the AWT management

  • Nil. Will work in close coordination with the AWT agent in Sri Lanka and the AWT management
  • Reporting to the Head of Sales based in Dubai and AWT agent in Sri Lanka 

  • Will need to visit clients and sites on a regular basis

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Engineering qualification from a reputed institution. 
  • Additional qualification in management/sales/marketing is desirable but not mandatory
  • 5 years’ experience in sales of high-value complex industrial equipment.
  • At least 2 years should be in the water treatment industry
  • Experience in the Sri Lankan market. 
  • Knowledge of the Maldives market will be an advantage
  • A valid Sri Lankan driving license is mandatory
