The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) being the apex body of Sri Lankan marketers, was founded in 1970 and subsequently incorporated by Act 41 of 1980 of the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka recognizing it as the national body for marketing and a “not-for-profit” organization. SLIM is mandated to uplift the Marketing profession in Sri Lanka, provide marketing studies and conduct many national level events which are supported by its vision; “To lead the nation’s efforts towards economic prosperity” and its mission; “To establish marketing as the driving force, which enhances business and national value”.
