Retail Sales Executive / Assistant

As a Retail Sales Executive, you will play a crucial role in driving sales and delivering excellent customer service in a retail environment. Your primary responsibility will be to engage with customers, understand their needs, and guide them towards suitable products or services. You will contribute to the overall success of the store by meeting sales targets, maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, and fostering positive customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Generation:
    • Proactively approach and engage with customers to understand their requirements.
    • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of products, features, and benefits to effectively assist customers in making purchasing decisions.
    • Recommend and cross-sell additional products or services to maximize sales opportunities.
    • Achieve or exceed assigned sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Customer Service:
    • Create a welcoming and positive shopping experience for customers.
    • Provide accurate and relevant information about products, pricing, and promotions.
    • Address customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns promptly and professionally.
    • Handle transactions, including cash handling, credit card processing, and point-of-sale (POS) operations.
    • Assist in resolving product returns or exchanges following established policies.

  • Product Knowledge and Merchandising:
    • Stay updated on the latest product offerings, features, and industry trends.
    • Maintain a thorough understanding of the store's inventory and product availability.
    • Participate in regular training sessions to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques.
    • Contribute to visual merchandising efforts, ensuring appealing product displays and a tidy sales floor.

  • Team Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with the store team to achieve overall sales goals and objectives.
    • Share feedback and suggestions for improving sales strategies, customer service, or product offerings.
    • Assist in training new team members on sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer service standards.

  • Store Operations:
    • Adhere to all store policies, procedures, and security guidelines.
    • Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, and customer interactions.
    • Assist in inventory management, including stock replenishment and stocktaking activities.
    • Ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; qualification in business, marketing, or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in retail sales preferably in a similar industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with customers.
  • Strong product knowledge and the ability to quickly learn about new products.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple customer interactions simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
