Network and Systems Professional and General Port IT Professionals | Colombo

Dependent on your experience, your responsibilities could over time include:
- Provide advice and consultancy related to IT Network, including advice on installing and configuring IT network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, Enterprise Unified Communication Manager, etc.
- Provide advice and consultancy related to high-end servers, SAN, NAS, configuring VMware EXSi, vSAN, etc. and maintain the primary/secondary data centers.
- Provide advice and consultancy related to Server Operating Systems, Microsoft 365, Intune Admin Center, VDI, Surveillance systems and other systems related applications and security.
- Procuring port IT systems, including being involved with auditing and monitoring suppliers’ services in relation with agreed SLA.
- Procuring IT infrastructure equipment, including being involved with auditing and monitoring contractors’ services in relation with agreed SLA.
- Provide advice and consultancy related to backup administration and end to end backup infrastructure with leading tools.
- Provide advice and consultancy related to audit recommendations and cyber security standards, handle service desk incidents and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 3-year previous working experience in a cargo terminal operational environment, or in shipping industry.
- Excellent English language, excellent communication skills and Good PR skills to deal with different external parties.
- Proficiency in Microsoft application packages such as MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word, etc. are a must.
- Graduate in IT / Computer Science with 5+ years of working experience.
- Vendor certification will be an added advantage.
- Experience in managing IT infrastructure projects.
- Good interpersonal skills, problem solving and project management skills.
- Team player with good negotiation skills
- Well organized, systematic, and high level of integrity.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Quick learning ability & a dynamic team player.
- Candidates between 30 and 40 years of age and residing in Colombo suburbs are preferred.
