Junior Chief of Staff

Serendipity is a newly established business that acts as a shared services provider to an existing series of business endeavors, chief of which is DaddysLanka (Pvt) Ltd 

We are seeking an ambitious and dynamic individual to join our team as a Junior Chief of Staff. You will be working directly with the Director across a portfolio of existing and new businesses. Your role will be vital in ensuring smooth operations across the Director's commitments, facilitating effective communication between various stakeholders, and helping drive progress on crucial projects.

Your Role:
  • Executive Support: As the Junior Chief of Staff, you will be indispensable in assisting the Director with his daily schedule, organizing meetings, and ensuring all commitments are met efficiently. Acting as an extension of the Director, you will manage a variety of tasks to enhance efficiency across his schedule and projects, ensuring seamless operations and strategic planning support.
  • Communication Coordination: Your role is critical in facilitating effective communication within our team, between our team and the Director, and with our external partners. You will ensure that communication flows smoothly, supporting the development and implementation of communication strategies that enhance our organizational effectiveness.
  • Leadership Team Liaison: You will act as a vital link between the Director and the organization's leadership team, facilitating the flow of information and ensuring alignment on key projects and initiatives. This role involves coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, and ensuring that decisions made by the leadership team are communicated and implemented effectively. Your ability to navigate complex organizational structures and maintain strong relationships across teams will be essential in promoting a cohesive and collaborative work environment.
  • Project Coordination: You will play a key role in the execution of internal projects designed to improve our organization and others within our portfolio. This includes overseeing project timelines, orchestrating team collaboration, and contributing to the development of project strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Cross-organizational Support: In alignment with our business group's collaborative ethos, you will extend your support across various organizations within our portfolio. This role involves facilitating the integration of work processes and enhancing communication channels to promote a cohesive operational environment.
  • Strategic Initiative Support: In your capacity as Junior Chief of Staff, you will be directly involved in the planning and implementation of strategic initiatives under the direction of senior leadership. This includes conducting research, analyzing data to inform decision-making, and preparing reports that will shape the strategic direction of the organization. Your role will be critical in bridging the gap between strategy and execution, ensuring that the Director’s vision is translated into actionable plans.

  • Your capacity to anticipate needs and execute tasks with minimal supervision will be key to success in this role.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, in English and Sinhala are crucial, along with a high level of computer literacy. 
  • A minimum grade of A in both O-Level and A-Level English is required, with preference given to applicants who also excel in O-Level Science, Maths, ICT, and History with an A grade.
  • Experience and Growth Mindset: Previous experience in an executive support role or a similar capacity is beneficial but not mandatory.

Our Work Environment:
  • You will be joining a dynamic and evolving environment where adaptability is key. Although the pace of work might vary, your role is crucial to our operations. A significant portion of your work will be done independently and alongside the Director, requiring you to take the initiative and manage your time effectively. 

What We Offer:
  • This role offers an extremely competitive starting salary with a structured incentive program designed to reward outstanding performance with quarterly and other regular bonuses. The role expects to start with a full-time pay of LKR 50,000 a month for the first three months, following which an assessment will result in a pay change and bonuses that reflect performance and skill during this period. For a strong performer, we anticipate pay rising to LKR 100,000 within a 6 month period.

  • This is a full-time role, typically from 8am-5pm although there may be some blocks during this time where work is moved outside of these time periods. While initially, the in-person aspect might fluctuate, we expect the role to become steadily more consistent across the first 3 months.
