Consultant Credit Evaluation - Commercial Lending
We are looking for a dynamic, dedicated individual who can make a valuable contribution to the continued success of our organization. The ideal candidate must be a qualified & talented individual with a can- do attitude, having a sound understanding of the subject matter to make comprehensive decisions, and possess the determination to succeed in a challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the review and approval of commercial credit proposals and to maintain a good balance between returns and risks exposure
- Engage in the development, implementation, review and monitoring of various credit programmes and provide training and coaching to continually upgrade the competencies of team members
- Have a comprehensive understanding of credit/risk evaluation, financial statements and cashflow analysis (including preparation of spread sheets and interpretation of financials)
- Possess the ability to understand customer requirements, analyse clients' financial records, negotiate and structure lending packages to suit customer business requirements within the credit policy framework without compromising any associated risks
- Lead a team of credit approvers to ensure a high standard of credit quality in the portfolio by using various credit assessment tools
- Be committed to achieving individual and team goals
- Monitor corporate portfolio asset quality on an ongoing basis
- Draft models of credit information that predict trends and patterns
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Finance and/or Business Administration from a recognized university and/or part qualification in CA/CIMA/ACCA
- Full qualification in Banking from IBSL or any other related qualification from a reputed professional body
- Minimum 15-20 years of Banking/Credit Assessment experience of which 5 to 10 years should be at a senior managerial position in a reputed bank in Sri Lanka
- A good understanding of the regulatory landscape of Sri Lanka in relation to the financial industry
- Ability to communicate with judgment, diplomacy and tact with clients from various backgrounds
- Self-confidence and a need to be involved in business development activities
- Commitment to delivering exceptional service to clients and to the senior members in our team with an ability to work quickly and establish effective results
- Excellent interpersonal skills both spoken and written, with the ability to maintain cordial relationships with all stakeholders
