Sous Chef (Bakery)
Requirements
- Training staff, implementing, and maintaining customer service
- Regularly educate, upskill, and train in-store SPAR staff and Engage staff on new and existing products.
- Provide stores with recipes and costings where necessary.
- Provide stores with Sales Data to assist in decision making.
- Assist Commercial /Procurement where applicable.
- Ensure you have a healthy work relationship between HO, Marketing, Procurement and Operations.
- Create a healthy working environment between Suppling outlets and independent retailers.
- Be aware of competitor activities and product range offerings.
- Actively list SPAR products in stores and ensure order is processed.
- Ensure SPAR assets are maintained at all times.
- Maintain and keep to standards for merchandise displays where applicable.
- Understand the SPAR business model.
- Reporting and feeding back to Management.
- Feedback to management on customer reaction to products
- Quality Control with the necessary details
- Attend training for self-development.
- Attend personnel/staff meetings.
- Timeously submit store report on completed visits.
- Maintain customer service.
- Identify ways to increase Retailer’s Bakery gross profit and sales.
- Identify food trends and concepts and implement in stores.
- Assist stores with ranging, menu design and recipe costings for the Bakery department.
- Assist stores with stock and order control in Bakery department.
- Assist stores with production planning to maximize Bakery staff productivity.
- Assist stores with implementation of good hygiene and food safety standards in the Bakery department.
- Assist project managers with store revamps and new store openings.
- Advise stores on the purchasing, layout, and maintenance of Bakery department equipment.
- In-store activity to promote sales.
- Achieving monthly Sales and GP targets
- Creating strategic ways to achieve monthly targets.
- Ensuring all bakery goods are produced in time for service.
- Successfully delegating responsibilities among out staff members
- Producing bakery items that are fresh, creative, and innovative in a timely manner.
- Maintain ideal stock levels in category.
- Confidently presenting new ideas to improve work life and targets.
- Utilizing creativity when creating promotional items and seasonal specials
- Maintaining and improving team spirit

Requirements
- Qualification in Culinary or similar.
- Good IT knowledge (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PPT)
- Good Analytical skills
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a Demi chef position in retail
- Good ability to write, read and speak in both languages.
- Share knowledge of Food Safety & Food Preparation
- Excellent communication skills and effective information monitoring
- Good presentation skills
