Fashion Design Lecturer

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as a Full-time Fashion Design Lecturer. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to students pursuing a career in fashion design. This role involves sharing industry insights, fostering creativity, and nurturing the next generation of fashion designers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop lesson plans, project briefs & course content based on the given syllabus.
  • Deliver engaging lectures, workshops, and practical sessions in fashion design
  • Create a supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and creativity
  • Provide constructive feedback on student work to facilitate growth and development
  • Mentor and guide students in developing their design skills and conceptual thinking
  • Stay current with industry trends and incorporate relevant knowledge into the curriculum
  • Contribute to the development of course materials and assessments
  • Participate in academic administration duties as required
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practice
  • Assist in the planning and organization of a variety of activities, such as industry visits/sourcing trips, exhibitions, events etc.

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION:
  • Relevant academic qualifications in Fashion Design or related field.
  • Demonstrable experience working as a designer in the fashion industry or an educator in the academic field.
  • Strong communication and written skills in English and the ability to engage diverse groups of learners
  • A passion for teaching and mentoring students towards success.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard design software and techniques
  • An innovative approach to teaching that inspires creativity and critical thinking.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusivity, diversity, and sustainability within fashion education
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to a team environment
  • A proactive attitude towards professional development and staying aware of industry developments
